PIF 2026 Closing Ceremony: A Legacy of Growth – Empower, Elevate, Endure

On 26 September 2026, the YWLC Pay-It-Forward (PIF) Mentorship Programme gathered 14 YWLC members and 18 mentees at EY’s office for the Closing Ceremony, marking the culmination of a meaningful six-month journey of growth, learning and connection.

Reflecting on our Strengths and Connections

Ahead of the ceremony, participants completed a strengths finder exercise to discover their top strengths. The session opened with tribe members sharing which strengths resonated most with them, and affirming each other’s growth with stories of how they had seen one another demonstrate these strengths throughout PIF. Each tribe then created a physical portrait representing their collective strength, celebrating the connections and laughter during their time together.

Participants also exchanged letters of appreciation and wrote letters to their future selves, capturing reflections, lessons and aspirations.

Confidence, Connections & Continuity

Mentees were encouraged to build confidence, grow their personal brands, and continue nurturing the connections formed during PIF.

One mentee, Jasmine, shared how the guidance and support from her mentor, Michelle, helped her secure an internship at NTUC and ease into her role as a budding HR professional. She also recently created her LinkedIn profile, embracing her strength of curiosity by putting herself out there, connecting with others and learning from those around her.

Her experience showed how mentorship can go beyond advice, giving mentees the confidence to take action and embrace new opportunities.

The Journey Continues

In closing, Sarah Seet, Deputy Director of Social Impact, and lead of the organising committee, encouraged mentees to look forward to the upcoming Homecoming and reminded everyone that their journey does not end with PIF.

The morning concluded on a celebratory note with a photo booth, the presentation of e-certificates and a group photo to commemorate the journey.

As mentors and mentees move into their next chapters, we hope the confidence, friendships and networks built over the past six months continue to grow. The relationships built and lessons shared throughout PIF2026 will continue beyond the programme, fostering lasting connections and a continued journey of growth.

If you are keen to shape the 11th cycle of PIF in 2027, we will be recruiting members for the organising committee from November 2026 to January 2027. Reach out to impact@ywlc.org.sg to express your interest.
