A platform to develop generations of young women leaders who lead through the example of compassionate service. We aim to expose and connect our members with various skills-based voluntary opportunities in Singapore, with a focus on women and children-related causes.
Members will have the opportunity to work in our ongoing community projects, or initiate and spearhead community projects, all these with the aim of building a network of young women leaders being able to give back to the society.
At YWLC, we have three Community Engagement flagship programmes:
Female and Fearless
Female and Fearless is a one-day workshop that aims to impart leadership, goal-setting and confidence building skills to female teenagers who are seeking direction in their lives. We work with schools and non-profit organizations such as CHIJ, ITE, Gracehaven, Salvation Army and SHINE to identify girls who would best benefit from this workshop to seek clarity on educational and career pathways, and also gain confidence to create the lives they want to lead.
100 Wishes is a life-skills programme that we run for women's shelters and female youths in Singapore. Some of our partners include Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS) Women’s Shelter and Casa Raudha Women’s Home. We are currently running the fourth cycle of 100 Wishes with SCWO's Star Shelter and SHINE Children & Youth Services, where we conduct a range of workshops for beneficiaries in areas such as career navigation, financial literacy, mental wellness, and arts & crafts.
Pay It Forward Mentorship Programme
Pay It Forward Mentorship Programme is a six-month mentorship programme that allows YWLC members to pay it forward by supporting the younger generation of girls from tertiary institutes. This programme provides the opportunity for young mentors and mentees to learn and share more about each other's lives and careers, as well as gain life skills from workshops covering topics like building healthy financial hapits, personal confidence, and self-advocacy.
Female & Fearless
Female & Fearless aims to impart leadership, goal-setting, confidence building and digital skills to female teenagers aged 13 to 17 years old. We work with schools and non-profit organisations such as CHIJ, ITE, Gracehaven, Salvation Army and SHINE to identify girls who would best benefit from this workshop to seek clarity on educational and career pathways, and also gain confidence to create the lives they want to lead.
