Community Engagement

A platform to develop generations of young women leaders who lead through the example of compassionate service. We aim to expose and connect our members with various skills-based voluntary opportunities in Singapore, with a focus on women and children-related causes.

Members will have the opportunity to work in our ongoing community projects, or initiate and spearhead community projects, all these with the aim of building a network of young women leaders being able to give back to the society.

100 Wishes

YWLC’s flagship programme 100 Wishes is a life-skills program that we run for the women shelters of Singapore. In the first two cycles of 100 Wishes with Singapore Anglican Community Services (SACS) Women’s Shelter and Casa Raudha Women’s Home respectively, the residents went through courses which covered Fitness and Fun, Health and Wellness, Financial Literacy, Grooming and Career Development. We are currently running the third cycle of 100 Wishes with SCWO’s Star Shelter.

Female and Fearless

Female and Fearless is a one-day workshop that aims to impart leadership, goal-setting and confidence building skills to female teenagers who are seeking direction in their lives. We work with schools and non-profit organizations such as CHIJ, ITE, Gracehaven, Salvation Army and SHINE to identify girls who would best benefit from this workshop to seek clarity on educational and career pathways, and also gain confidence to create the lives they want to lead.

QueenBiz Marketing Workshops

The QueenBiz series of marketing workshops was held in partnership with Thye Hua Kwan Family Service Centre (THKFSC). Our members and external trainers delivered a series of practical marketing and selling workshops to the mom-preneurs at THKFSC to empower them to make a more sustainable living selling hand-made crafts and snacks. The mom-preneurs applied these tips to sell more effectively during bazaars, and even started or enhanced their social media pages to market their products online!

Coming up on 13 October 2018, we are organizing the Women for Women Hackathon to promote active citizenry among youths. We will bring together 20 female change-makers and 100 hackathon participants to ideate and propose community change initiatives in an intensive day of brainstorming.
